I went to Legendary Rita's today. Yeah, for haircut.
Why is Rita legendary? Hum, because she gives haircuts in a garage. Isn't it fun? There's no sign, no advertising. You just, sort of, go there because everybody else seems to. So there are only Rita, and her husband. She gives the haircut, and he does the rest, like, rinsing off the shampoo, or stuff. There's really no rule, no price chart on the wall. Oh except the new post, that they'll have Mondays off this year, you know. When Rita's working on your hair, they actually yell at each other sometimes. And the husband sneaks out once in a while, cigarette break; comes back with the smell of smoke, and gives you massage, as part of the service.
I know it's odd to have your hair done in a shabby place like Rita's. But it somehow reminds me of the old barbershop I used to go to as a kid. Yep, in Taiwan. FengYuan actually, a quiet small town. So every time I need a quick fix of Taiwan, I go to Rita's. And she does give good haircuts.
